AMIkids NC Family Services is a statewide nonprofit committed to empowering youth and families involved with the Juvenile Justice system across all 100 counties in North Carolina. We provide Functional Family Therapy (FFT), an evidence-based model proven to reduce recidivism and improve family functioning for youth ages 10–18. Our therapists travel directly to families’ homes, helping to remove barriers to treatment, build trust, and meet families where they are, both geographically and emotionally.
Currently, our work is facilitated through five regional teams and offices across the state. While our outcomes are strong and our model highly effective, we face an ongoing challenge in name recognition and public awareness. Many referral partners who could be connecting us to the youth who need our services are unaware of the support we provide.
Access to direct mail would also allow us to expand our reach into underserved communities and better connect with Juvenile Court Counselors, social service agencies, school staff, and other professionals who influence the referral process. If we receive funding from Telepathic Graphics, these mailings will include real-life success stories, referral steps, and region-specific contact information to ensure clarity and accessibility.
This grant would allow us to redirect internal resources currently allocated to marketing and outreach, freeing those funds for direct client support. This support includes transportation assistance, therapist training, and experiential learning opportunities for youth. In short, it helps us focus more fully on hands-on work that transforms lives. These tools are critical in helping us reach families, stakeholders, referral sources, and community partners, especially in areas where access to digital tools is limited or inconsistent.
Additionally, being able to have enhanced printed materials would support our strategic goal of increasing the number of families served statewide. We have the capacity to serve more youth and families if only they were aware of our services. The more means of communication and outreach that we have access to, the more connections we can create, and the more families receive the help they need.

Family services may include program models such as Functional Family Therapy and the AMIkids Family Centric Model™. Family Services programs last approximately two to six months.
